Adam, Hevra VeTeva High School in Karmiel was founded in 2008 by Kibbutz Eshbal members in order to provide an educational answer for local disenfranchised youth, and for the Eshbal Youth Society, thus providing a complete boarding school experience.
The educational process at school addresses the individual academic, social, experiential learning and emotional needs of each student. The school’s pedagogical philosophy is an ongoing process of revision and reinvention by the staff and derives from the Dialogical Education approach.
Students receive hands-on experience through running a stable for horses and a kennel to rehabilitate and train abandoned dogs and find them new homes. Not only do the students learn a trade and receive academic credit, but they also develop valuable life and emotional skills by committing themselves to animals that they love.
